The Nigerian Senate has confirmed the ministerial nomination of former Rivers Governor Rotimi Amaechi after an intense session, Thursday, October 29, 2015.
The process was not without hitches as the main opposition party, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) caucus staged a walkout in protest of the decision to confirm Amaechi.
Led by Senate Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio, the PDP senators are seen in the photos below walking out of the Senate Chamber also called Red Chamber.
Amaechi’s confirmation as been a source of contention in the Senate over corruption allegations being investigated by a Senate committee.
