Bala Mohammed Warns Wike Camp: ‘Enough Is Enough’

Must read

ABUJA, Nigeria — The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum and governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed, has warned that the party will no longer tolerate disruptions from factions seeking to impose conditions on its forthcoming national convention.

Mohammed’s remarks came after a group loyal to Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, issued a list of demands under the banner of “Eminent Leaders and Concerned Stakeholders of the PDP.”

Among them was a call for the national chairmanship to remain in the north-central zone, in line with the 2021 zoning formula, and opposition to any micro-zoning of party offices.

Speaking on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, Mohammed said PDP governors and the National Working Committee (NWC) were united in defending the party’s stability and discipline.

“We cannot continue to keep quiet and allow people to take us to the slaughterhouse,” he said.

“The National Chairman has spoken very well. The pedigree and capacity of the Convention Committee leadership is never in doubt because they have been doing it, they have done it before, and we believe we will do it very well.

“We are with the National Working Committee. We appreciate the sacrifice they are making. But certainly, time has come when we must flex our muscles. We are not cowards and we are not afraid of anybody. We are capable of navigating this party beyond the shenanigans, beyond the arrogance and impunity of some people.”

Mohammed stressed that the convention would go ahead as planned and urged party members to respect party discipline.

“We will no longer allow or tolerate anybody to take us for granted. It has to stop. Enough is enough. We are not going to tolerate any longer,” he said.

The PDP’s national convention is scheduled for November 15–16 in Ibadan, Oyo State, amid intensifying internal disputes over leadership, zoning, and the influence of factions aligned with Wike.
