BOMBSHELL: I Won’t Pay Unemployed Youths N5,000 Because… – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has revealed that the Federal Government would no longer pay unemployed youths in the country the sum of N5,000, which was one of the pivotal pledges of his campaign in the run up to the 2015 Presidential election which brought him into office.

Speaking over the weekend in Saudi Arabia, President Buhari said he had other priorities and would no longer be fulfilling the promise he had earlier made to Nigerians.

He said: “This largesse N5,000 for the unemployed, I have got a slightly different priority. I would rather do the infrastructure, the school and correct them and empower agriculture, mining so that every able bodied person can go and get work instead of giving 5,000, N5,000 to those who don’t work.”

It would be recalled that during his inaugural media chat, president Buhari had stated that youths would have to farm in order to earn the N5,000 largesse.

The Presidency had in November 2015 availed that the payment pof the N5,000 stipend would commence in 2016.
