A brainbox physics student has discovered a lucrative sideline – after he was invited to be a porn star.
Luke-Kristopher Davis, 21, was on holiday in Barcelona when he was approached by director Erika Lust.
“I was out there relaxing and this director asked me if I was an actor or model,” he said.
“I said I was just a student. She asked if I would like to become one for a short time.
“She said she didn’t offer this to new people that regularly.
“When it came to the performance she was very impressed and wanted me to work there for a long time,” Mr Davis told Wales Online.
The Swansea University student is now listed on the XConfessions website which says he “dances and attends university when he is not wowing us with his great smile”.
While in the Spanish city Luke made two flicks under the name Kristopher Kodjoe. They were Before the Guests Arrive and Manual del Placer – Spanish for “oral pleasure”.
Mr Davis said he broke the news to his mum on Facebook.
“She was in England and I was in Barcelona,” he said.
“I sent her a Facebook message saying I’m going to do this erotic film. I’ll let you know how it goes.
“My mum just said, ‘Oh, have fun!’”
Explaining that he did not rush into anything, he continued: “I didn’t just accept the offer straight away. I said, ‘Come back in two minutes.’
“I had to think about whether the risk was worth it because when you go into that industry there is a risk that your reputation will be affected.
“But the science industry and physicians are relaxed. They only care if you are doing science well. They do not really care about your past.”
The movie was shot in March.
“In the morning I went to the studio and everyone was having breakfast,” Mr Davis said.
“These are Spanish film directors and crew so everyone is very relaxed. They prepared the set and I talked to everyone.
“The crew were fantastic. They just seemed so familiar and down to earth,” he added, saying her and redhead co-star Amarna Miller “had good chemistry”.
“So that helped. And they just started rolling. They told me what they wanted me to do,” said Mr Davis.
“The sex was very different to real life sex. Almost to the point where you are thinking about the process so much that it becomes almost void of enjoyment.”
The movie was completely scripted, and not natural at all, with the director shouting “cut” at any moment, he added.
Mr Davis, who tutors maths to A-level students over the internet, didn’t care if people gossiped.
“I’m never worried about what people will think,” he said.
“If I was I would not have done it. People always talk and stuff. It was just an inviting opportunity for me.”
“If anyone did say anything nasty it wouldn’t matter to me.
“My family were shocked but they know I’m not stupid. They know I wouldn’t leave my physics degree to do porn.”
Mr Davis is hoping to work in theoretical physics after he graduates but he has not ruled out doing more erotic movies.
“Next summer I might return to Barcelona and do some more,” he said.
He said being “very confident” helped him with the filming.
“I was just performing this act and I had to get in character,” he said.
“It didn’t bother me at all. I felt very relaxed about it. I’m very comfortable with my body and who I am.
“I would definitely work with them again. It’s safe, it’s good money, why not?
“It makes life a lot more exciting.”
Erika Lust and her firm XConfessions are known as pioneers of so-called “feminist porn.”
“It was not important to me that they were a feminist company but the quality of the production was important,” Mr Davis said.
“Everyday porn is not very well thought out. It really is an artistic process for them.”
Talking about Erika, Mr Davis said: “She is very passionate about feminism. She went to the University of Lund and studied politics. She has written books about feminism.”
The student also confessed that this was not the first time he had taken off his kit for cash.
“In 2012 I did a bit of stripping,” he said.
“But that is a lot different. It’s just like a show and there is no sexual conduct involved.
“Porn is the next level of confidence.”
Oxford-born Luke also seems to have been bitten by the acting bug and said that he would not mind trying his hand at some normal films.
“If physics and my degree do not work out I would love to go into normal acting because I’m so comfortable in front of the camera,” he said.
“Perhaps soaps. I wouldn’t go into big blockbusters but smaller films.”
