Patience Paul, the schoolgirl abducted in Sokoto State and forcefully converted to Islam, has been rescued and will be reunited with her parents on Saturday, TheCable reports.
Miss Patience Paul, 15-years-old, was abducted from her home in Sokoto by two Islamist men in August 2015.
On Thursday, March 4, 2016, the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase had revealed that an investigation had been opened into the abduction of Patience Paul
Miss Patience Paul, 15, an indigene of Benue State was abducted from her home in Sokoto by two Islamist men. Her brother, Paul Isaac Adaji says he traced her to the palace of the Sultan of Sokoto. A recording had emerged which reveals that Patience has been forcefully converted to Islam and married off to a ‘Sarkin Musulmi’.
The news of Ms. Patience Paul’s abduction was made public by superblogger, Linda Ikeji, after her brother went public with the information following rescue of Miss Ese Oruru.
Patience Paul’s case came to national prominence after the story of Ese Oruru, the 14-year-old who was abducted from her home in Bayelsa and traced to the palace of the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II where she was forced to convert to Islam and married off, was made public.
