Fire broke out in a footwear factory in a Manila suburb in the Philippines killing dozens of people and more than 60 people who are workers of the factory reported missing.
According to reports, the fire that swept through the slipper factory started by sparks from a welding works near the entrance to the building. Local officials have confirmed that dozens of people are feared dead as relatives have reported over 60 people missing.
In the rescue attempt, it took firefighters many hours to put out the fire and have found only charred bodies since the fire was stopped. One of those who survived, a worker named Emma, said only those working on the ground floor of the two-storey building were able to escape. Meanwhile bodies of three other victims have been recovered.
