A Niger Delta leader, Ms Annkio Briggs, has cautioned the Federal Government and the management of Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas on (NLNG) a looming crisis over the siting of the multi-billion naira NLNG dry dock project in Badagry, Lagos State.

She said that the government should urgently prevail on NLNG to rescind its decision and relocate the project in any of the Niger Delta states to avoid break down of law and order.

Ms Briggs led different Niger Delta youth groups in protest which ended with the presentation of a protest letter to the management of the NLNG’s in Port Harcourt. At the event, the respected Niger Delta activist said the siting of the project outside the Niger Delta would deny the region of employment and revenue that would be generated from the project.

Earlier, Rivers State youths, under the auspices of National Youth Council of Nigeria had issued a seven-day ultimatum to management of the NLNG to rescind its decision to site the $1.5 billion dry dock project in Lagos.
