A wedding is doesn’t very often become a funeral but this young lady found out the hard way as shots supposedly fired in celebration of the wedding she was attending in Northern France on Saturday, June 13, 2014 hit her in the head.

According to sources, the lady was in the streets when the ‘celebratory’ shots were fired from a procession of cars attending another wedding and according to Fabien Thieme, the Mayor of the town of Marly, “This young woman of 19 to 20 years of age took a buckshot bullet to the head. They were driving past but the bullet hit her.”

Emergency services were called and they were able to treat her at the scene before proceeding to the hospital were she reportedly died. The shooter was detained by the locals who were present and subsequently arrested by the police alongside the 26 year old driver of the car.

According to Francois Perain, the prosecutor, The driver is the self proclaimed “best friend” of the wedding they were attending had agreed to drive the suspected shooter even though he was not on the guest list. From the number of casings found in the car, it suggests that the 12-calibre shotgun used in the shooting had been fired several times as they drove by.

“The suspect took the hunting rifle to fire in the air to ‘add to the atmosphere’,” the prosecutor said.
