Daily Meditations: Words Are Creative Not Just Communicative

Must read

The first recorded words spoken on earth are “let there be light” – Genesis 1:3 proving that as far as earth is concerned, the original purpose for words was that they should be a means of creation.

It was after all things besides man had been created that God used words as a means of communication on earth saying,”let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule” – Genesis 1:26.

From this historical record we understand that we are not simply communicating when we speak, we are creating. That is why Yeshu’a (Jesus) said “if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them” – Mark 11:23.

Christ is only reaffirming to us that nothing has changed since day one when God originated words on earth. So, when you are speaking about a person, place or thing, make sure you are using creative and not destructive language.

God knows that there is no such thing as empty words which is why His Son said, “but I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken” – Matthew 12:36.

Words are too valuable to be left empty.
