Daily Meditations: You Can Trust The Bible

Must read

I have heard people say that The Bible and Christianity are fables and tools that Europeans used to conquer the world and I laugh at the silliness. Long before there was a monarchy in Europe, Acts 8:26-40 talks about the Ethiopian Eunuch from Queen Candace’s court who had come to worship in Jerusalem. Almost a thousand years before that 1 Kings 10:1-13 records the visit of the black Queen of Sheba who visited King Solomon.

In Nigeria, the country of my ancestors, the major ethnic groups, Hausa, Yoruba and Ibo, all have oral traditions that sound strikingly similar to the biblical account of Nimrod’s kingdom in Babel found in Genesis 11:1-9. Before the coming of the Europeans, African tribes ALL sacrificed lambs, sheep, goats and cows as sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins as God prescribed in Exodus 12:5.

In fact, the very first nation mentioned in the Bible is a black nation – Ethiopia “And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia”- Genesis 2:13. When Jesus was being crucified, an African named Simon, was forced by the Romans to carry His Cross.

The conclusion from all these is that The Bible is corroborated by science, historical accounts of Josephus and even by the folklore of Africans therefore on Judgment Day men will be without excuse for not believing and obeying what it says.
