Top Dignitaries, including Yemi Osinbajo, the vice president of Nigeria, and thousands of Nigerians witnessed the grandeur inauguration of the multi-billion Deeper Life Bible Church headquarters in Gbagada area of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria on Tuesday, April 23, 2018.

Over 20,000 worshippers thronged the massive edifice meant to accommodate 30,000 worshippers at a single sitting to witness the ceremony.

Leading Osinbajo into the massive edifice was Pastor William Kumuyi, the General Superintendent, Deeper Christian Life Ministry.

At the event were Akinwunmi Ambode, the Governor of Lagos State,  who was represented by the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, WAPA,  Lola Akande; wife of the Ekiti State Governor, Feyisetan Fayose; wife of the National leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Oluremi Tinubu; representatives of the Governors of Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Osun State.

There were also the National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship, Felix Omobude; founder,  The Redeemed Evangelical Mission,  TREM, Bishop Mike Okonkwo, among others.

In his opening address, Kumuyi said the construction of the building began in June 2005, saying that the building was meant to sit 30,000 at a sitting.

He said the church took a leap of faith when it began the construction in 2005, adding that the inauguration was an indication that God had surpassed the expectations of the church.

Kumuyi said a new and larger auditorium became necessary as a result of the need to accommodate more people, adding that it was givings from Deeper Life members that the edifice was completed.

He added that the church was mindful of its corporate social responsibility to the community, which informed the construction of a bridge and car park in the area.

He said the task of developing the society should not be left alone for the government, but that private bodies and churches should assist the government, adding that the churches must intensify the preaching of the gospel to bring about a change in the country.

The man of God stated that when the preaching of the gospel was carried out effectively, it would help to eradicate social ills in the society.

According to him, righteousness exalted a nation while sin is a reproach to any nation and her people.

Also speaking, Esther Kumuyi, the wife of the General Superintendent, paid tribute to Kumuyi’s late wife,  Biodun Kumuyi.

She said many people looked with nostalgia to the old edifice, but noted that the glory of the latter house shall be greater.
