NAN – A housewife, Katherine Olaifa, on Wednesday urged an Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan to dissolve her nine-year-old marriage to Bolarinwa Olaifa over his sexual weakness and bad behaviour.
Katherine said that she noticed that her husband could not perform sexually since 2011, and had sex with her only once in three months.
” I did not want the marriage any longer. My husband is too quiet and does not share his mind with me.
“My lord, he was like that before our marriage and I thought he will change his bad attitude after marriage.
“His behaviour has become worse each day and does not spend much time at home.
” Any time my husband stays at home he will be busy inside his room with his laptop without discussing anything with me,’’she said.
She also told the court that she did not love him again and prayed the court to grant her the custody of their two children.
In his response, Olaifa, told the court that he got married to Katherine on May 17, 2005.
He said he and his wife had been living apart for the past two years because he was now staying in South Africa.
“I told her to join me in South Africa but she refused and she has also parked out of the house I rented for her in Osogbo since July 2013.
“My wife does not listen to my instructions any longer. I pray the court to grant her request and dissolve our marriage,’’Olaifa said.
Counsel to Olaifa and Catherine, Gbenga Falade and Katherine and Niyi Ishola, respectively, sought for an adjournment for submission of their written addresses.
Justice Adegboye Gbolagunte adjourned the case to May 9 for the counsel to address the court.
