ECOWAS Leaders In Nigeria To Meet President Jonathan, General Buhari, Jega, Others

The leadership of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) are in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja to meet with the major contenders ahead of the presidential election which holds on Saturday, March 28, 2015.

Leading the contingent is the Chairman of ECOWAS, President John Mahama of Ghana and President of the ECOWAS Commission, Desire-Kadre Ouedraogo, who are meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja.

The delegation is also scheduled to meet with General Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as well as Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Attahiru Jega at different venues later in the day.

According to Punch, the delegation is in the country to get commitments from all parties that the elections will be free, fair and credible.
