Final Farewell: Wole Soyinka’s Daughter Laid to Rest In Oyo (PHOTOS)

Wole Soyinka’s daughter Iyetade Soyinka was laid to rest on Friday January 10th 2014 in Ibadan, Oyo State.

A funeral service was held at the Chapel of Resurrection, University of Ibadan and buried at Ultimate Gardens cemetery.

It was a very sad and emotional vent as guests in attendance could not hold back their tears.

Among those in attendance were the former Governor of Cross River Mr
Donald Duke.

Very Rev. Kunle Oyelade gave the sermon at the funeral and two of the deceased sisters, Moremi and Peyibomi in tears read some of the poems the deceased wrote when alive.

Described as a very religious, kind-hearted, nice and generous woman, Soyinka died at the age of 48 at the University of Ibadan Teaching Hospital after a brief illness.

Among the dignitaries in attendance were the former governor of Cross River State Donald Duke, Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Ameachi, and Managing Director of Tanus Communications, Dr. Yemi Ogunbiyi
