Former minister of information, Labaran Maku has employed a “fowl campaign model as a modality to gain supports in his gubernatorial bid in Nassarawa State.

The former minister resigned his ministerial appointment alongside six other ministers to pursue a gubernatorial ambition in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, but lost at the primary to Alhaji Yusuf Agabi.
He also tried Labour Party, LP, where he also was not picked as a candidate for the gubernatorial candidate.
Maku eventually succeeded to win a gubernatorial candidacy under the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, under which he had begin an aggressive campaign with live fowls as a symbol of what he termed as “change”.
