Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the Governor of Kano State has disclosed he will enact an anti-divorce law due to the fact that the divorce rate in Kano state is becoming alarming.
During a meeting held with some agencies which include; Hisbah guards, Vigilance groups, Vehicle Inspection Officers and civil society organisations at Coronation Hall, Kano Governement House on Friday, June 5, 2015, the governor issues out a directive to the state Hisbah board to liaise with Islamic students and other contemporary Islamic scholars with a view to advising government on how the law would be implemented from the Islamic perspective as well as who to implement it.
He assured that the government would take appropriate measures to curb the menace of divorce rate which is becoming too worrisome.
