Governor Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto has won the senatorial seat for Sokoto North Senatorial zone.
Wamakko contested for the elections under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He scored 225,642 to defeat the present senator representing the zone on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ahmed Maccido. Senator Maccido Scored 65,692 votes.
