House Of Reps Summons Ambode, Emefiele, Dambazau Over $470 Million CCTV Contract

The House of Representatives has summoned several top government officials including National Security Adviser (NSA) Gen. Babagana Monguno, Minister of Finance Kemi Adeosun, Lagos State Governor Akinwumi Ambode, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Mohammed Musa Bello and Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Godwin Emefiele over a $470 million contract for the provision of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) in Abuja and Lagos.

The contract was awarded to a Chinese firm, ZTE Corporation, by the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Making the announcement was the chairman of the committee set up to look into the matter, Ahmed Yarima (APC, Bauchi), who availed that others who are expected to explain their roles in the contract include Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Solomon Arase, Minister of Interior Abdulrahman Dambazau (rtd), Minister of Communications Adebayo Shittu and Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) Garba Dambatta.
