IllBliss, a Nigerian rapper, might be quitting music.
The rapper, who is also the owner of a talent managing outfit, The Goretti Company, has announced on his Instagram page to announce his exit from music and the opening of a “new chapter”.
In a post that included a close up selfie, IllBliss said:
“Thank you all for being with me through this amazing Musical Journey.. GoodBYE.. To the Game…I’m GONE… Next Chapter.”
It is noteworthy that his company is solely behind the success of notable artistes including Chidinma and Phyno.
He has also received a number of awards for his contributions into the Nigerian Music Industry which includes Best Hiphop Video in the 2008 edition of the Soundcity Music Video Awards, an award presented to him by international rapper, Nas.
However, while we maybe unsure if this act is a publicity stunt as is rampant in the music industry today, we are sure that in his over-10-year span in the industry, he did make a mark.
His instagram post has a most fans pleading with the hiphop artiste to stay a while longer, while other s thanking him for his generosity while he was in the game.
One iamemmizzy posted: “gave chance to upcoming guys to do well, thank you @illblissgoretti”
Another fan, iamdjicemo posted “Nigeria BIG plz….. U know how much love and respect I have for u…. We still need u….”
