Justice Ademola Adeniyi of the Abuja Federal High Court on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 has stopped further hearing on two separate suits that questioned the eligibility of the president-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, to participate in the 2015 presidential polls.
The plaintiffs, Chukwunweike Okafor, and Mr. Max Ozoaka, through their respective lawyers, Chief Mike Ozehkome, SAN, and Dr. Chike Amobi, withdrew the suits through separate notices.
According to Vanguard, the plaintiffs told the court that they decided to withdraw the matter in order to allow Buhari to effectively run the affairs of the nation without distraction.
Buhari was declared the winner of the presidential polls on March 31, 2015 by Professor Attari Jega, Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
