‘The Devil’ Made Man Poison A Family’s Food With Insecticide In Lagos

A family of three in Lagos have escaped death as a neighbor spiced their meal with insecticide.

The Daily Sun reports that a woman in Baale Aiyetori Street in Ajegunle, a community in Apapa had left the soup she was cooking to buy salt.

When she returned, she noticed that the soup’s aroma had changed to the nauseating odour of insecticide.

The woman quickly notifies her landlady as she had grown suspicious.

According to the report, the landlady was said to have arrested the only co-tenant on the premises. The co-tenant was taken to the traditional ruler of the area who in turn, handed him over to the police.

The suspect whose name is Gordon Daniel, was questioned and has confessed to the crime.

Daniel, who told the police that the devil made him do it, also said that he had doused the soup with sniper insecticide.

“The husband insulted me last time because of electricity bill.  He called me a poor man, but the devil pushed me to do it.  I am sorry”  he told the Police.

The case has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Panti,Lagos, according to a police source.
