Labaran Maku Picks APGA Nasarawa Gubernatorial Ticket

Former Minister of Information, Labaran Maku was on Saturday, January 3, 2014 declared as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for Nasarawa State ahead of the Saturday, February 28, 2015 polls.

Maku was presented alongside his running mate Ibrahim Abu by the APGA Chairman for Enugu State, Ifeanyi Amakor.

Amakor said Maku was chosen to fly the party’s flag in the best interest of the party and the state, as he possessed necessary leadership skills and pedigree to with the election on the APGA platform.

“I want to use this opportunity to unveil Maku as our candidate for APGA for the governorship in Nasarawa State and to clear every rumour going round the clock that Maku is not our candidate, let me tell you, we don’t have two candidates in the state; the only candidate we have is Maku,” he said.

Maku on his part said if elected, he would create job opportunities and empower youths to enhance the economy and bring about peace. He also pledged to provide leadership that would usher in change and infrastructural development.
