An Iowa City man has been accused of exposing himself to elementary students on multiple occasions.
Iowa City Police arrested 46-year-old Anthony L. Hudson, of Hickory Place, Wednesday for allegedly exposing his genitals and masturbating in front of Horn Elementary School students several times in the last few months, according to police complaints.
Police began investigating in February and March multiple complaints reporting that a male had been exposing himself to elementary school students as they walked by an apartment complex at 1848 Benton St., just east of Horn Elementary, according to police.
On April 1 a surveillance officer witnessed a male – later identified as Hudson – masturbating in the apartment complex’s street-facing doorway, police say.
Police also set up a video surveillance at the apartment building and Hudson was captured on video masturbating in full view of elementary students and trying to get the student’s attention using a strobe flashlight, police say.
Police say Hudson’s activities took place in the common area of the apartment building.
Hudson has been charged with two serious misdemeanor counts of indecent exposure.
