Manchester United Looks Up To Gundogan As Chances For Kevin Strootman Dim

Must read

Manchester United is considering a move for German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan in January if they fail to succeed in a move for Kevin Strootman from Roma, Daily Express reports.

Manchester United head coach Louis van Gaal, who was confident of getting Kevin Strootman to Hanfield by January has been forced to change his mind as his Roma manager has placed a whooping £75m price tag on the Dutchman. Van Gaal has therefore declared on Monsay October 13, 2014 that he has shifted his attention to Gundogan, who will return to the Borussia Dortmund line-up this weekend.

According to Van Gaal, the need for a strong and skilful midfielder is following the urgent need for a replacement for Michael Carrick, who missed the start of the new season due to injury.

Van Gaal however said he has an alternative in Arturo Vidal, who is having a clash with his Juventus manager Massimo Allegri, after risking his fitness and energy by going out partying the night before their crucial top of the table clash against AS Roma.
