Many Trapped As 2-Storey Building Collapses n Lagos

A two-storey building on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 collapsed at Ajiran road, off Olufemi Olatunji Street, off Lekki/Epe Expressway, Lagos State.

Two male adults were rescued alive, while others were trapped inside the building which collapsed around 8:20am when construction workers were working.

The state and federal emergency officials as well as Lagos State Fire Services, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, National Emergency Management Authority, NEMA and the Nigeria Police later arrived the scene.

One of those rescued was hospitalized at First City Hospital, Osapa London, Lekki, while another was only given first aid treatment by the personnel of Lagos State Ambulance Services, LASAMBUS, according to Vanguard.

An eyewitness disclosed that sympathizers thronged the scene and rescued the duo following an alarm raised by a resident.

Voices of some of the trapped victims were heard from underneath the rubbles as at 1pm while the emergency responders were making efforts to see that more persons are rescued.
