45-year-old supermodel, Naomi Campbell was on Friday, July 31, 2015 convicted by a Silican court after she was found guilty of assaulting a photographer who took pictures of her together with her former boyfriend while on holiday in 2009.
Campbell who was having a walk through Silican island of Lipar with her then boyfriend; Russian billionaire, Vladimir Doronin hit paparazzi, Gaetano Di Giovanni with her handbag when she discovered he was taking pictures of them. She also reportedly scratched his eye.
Campbell has now been slammed with a six month suspended prison sentence. E! is however reporting that the supermodel and her legal team will be appealing this decision. Her lawyer, Guido Carlo Alleva is quoted as saying:
‘We are appealing the ruling surrounding the 2009 incident. Due to the ongoing legal process, we cannot discuss the matter further at this time.’
