Nigeria’s film industry, fondly called Nollywood, has scheduled a Night of Tribute to pay their last respect to Oronto Douglas, the late Special Adviser on Research, Documentation and Strategy to President Goodluck Jonathan.
The environmental activist and lawyer, was a friend of the industry before his death in the early hours of Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the State House Clinic Abuja after seven year battle with cancer.
The Night of Tribute will commence by 6pm on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at the Convention Centre, Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos State.
Various Nollywood stars have sent in their tributes and consoled the family of the deceased.
Oronto will be finally laid to rest on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the St Mark’s Anglican Church Premises, Okoroba, Nembe LGA of Bayelsa State by 2.30pm.
