It’s not the sort of behaviour you expect from Santa Claus – but two children were left ‘heartbroken’ after a letter arrived, signed Father Christmas, saying, ‘You have not been good children.’
The letter wasn’t from the real Santa, of course – mother Laura Cole had come up with the last-ditch plan to persuade her children to behave.
Ever since receiving it, they have been ‘like angels,’ she says.
It looks to have worked: Tyler, 8, and Laura, 4, are left crying and saying in disbelief, with Tyler saying, ‘We can’t be on his naughty list.’
The letter from ‘Santa’ said, ‘You have not been good children. If you do not start behaving, you will not receive the lovely presents I have for you both,’ before reminding them they had just ’13 sleeps’ to turn things around.
Cole says the terror tactic worked splendidly, saying, ‘After reading the letter they were amazing, like angels, Tyler helped Freya get dressed and even held her hand on the way to school which was a big improvement.
‘Usually you have to tell Freya 10 times to get dressed, but that morning I only had to ask her once.
‘I do feel bad though, and when we got to school I went in to talk to the teacher to tell her what I’d done in case he got upset in class!’
