Obasanjo Returns To National Council of State Meeting. Tambuwal, Buhari Absent

Former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 resumed attending government functions after several months break, attending the National Council of State meeting in Abuja, with several commentators believing that the move was in view of the fast approaching 2015 general elections.

All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirant and former military Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, who recently cross carpeted from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC were both absent

Also absent were the APC governors.

Asides Obasanjo, others present  were former president Shehu Shagari, former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon, and former Head of Interim National Government, Ernest Shonekan.

The Senate President, David Mark, former Chief Justices of Nigeria, Idris Kutigi, Mohammadu Uwais, National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim and the Attorney General of the Federation, Mohammed Adoke were also in attendance.

Governors present for the meeting included those of Abia, Ekiti, Enugu, Delta, Akwa Ibom, Ondo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Niger, Cross Rivers, Kogi, and Ebonyi States and the Katsina Deputy Governor.
