The peace of Iree, Osun State, was disrupted on Thursday, November 11, 2021, as a suspected cultist shot an unidentified man to death in a community around the Osun State Polytechnic.

An eyewitness revealed that the incident occurred around 9 pm on Thursday along the Daily Part-Time, DPT, road of the Osun State Polytechnic in the town.

He also revealed that the gunmen, who arrived in the area on a motorcycle, shot the man at point-blank range and sped off.

On hearing the sound of gunshots, many of the residents took to their heels and scampered for safety.

However, members of the Hunters Group of Nigeria have been mobilised and are on the trail of the assailants.

The Osun State Police Command is yet to comment on the attack as calls made to the spokesperson were not answered.
