Former EFCC Boss, Nuhu Ribadu Wins PDP Gubernatorial Primaries In Adamawa

A former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Nuhu Ribadu has won the governorship ticket of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Adamawa state beating six other contestants including the state governor, Bala Ngilari.

The election held today, Monday, December 8, 2014, at the Old Parade ground, Abuja as directed by the party’s National Working Committee, NWC, after a panel sent to the state to conduct primary election for state Assembly aspirants alleged that governor was was holding them hostage.

After the elections, the chairman of the Election Panel, Rufai Hanga, announced the result which disclosed that  Ribadu got 688 votes while, Mr. Ngilari got 26 votes.

Also, Awwal Tukur, the son of former chairman of the PDP, Bamanga Tukur,  had 24 votes while former executive secretary of Universal Basic Education, Commission, UBE‎C, Ahmed Modibbo, got 30.

Retired General Aliyu Kama got 3 votes while another candidate, Marcus Gundiri, had 33 votes.
