Police Stop ‘One-Million-Man’ March For Buhari In Kano

Must read

All Progressive Congress presidential campaigners under the platform of Buhari Youth Organisation seem not to be getting any positive support in Kano State which is supposedly numbered among the party presidential candidate’s stronghold states.

Police operatives in the state on Sunday, March 15, 2015 stopped a proposed one-million-man march in support of the party’s aspirant, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd).

It would be recalled that two weeks ago, a fraction of the party’s advocates gathered in what was tagged a ‘one-million man’ march for Buhari although the name did not by any way represent the turn out as not too many persons showed up for the march.

Although the state police commissioner had previously approved that the supporters march from the Sani Abacha Stadium of the state to the Buhari Campaign Office along Maiduguri road, the police however asked the organizers to cancel the march.

According to Scoop NG, the police told the organisers in a circular signed by DCP Ibrahim S. Ka’oje that there should be no marching according to directives from the Deputy Inspector General, Department of Operations, Force Headquarters in Abuja.

Meanwhile, several members of the party including state Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso’s aide recently dumped APC and defected to ruling People’s Democratic Party.
