The presidential ticket of President Goodluck Jonathan/Namadi Sambo has been described as workable, formidable and credible by a former acting national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr. Bello Haliru Mohammed.
Mohammed stated this over the weekend in Abuja while responding to commendations and messages of solidarity by political leaders and groups over the successful conduct of PDP national convention which produced President Goodluck Jonathan and Vice President Namadi Sambo as presidential candidate and running mate of the party respectively.
Mohammed who chaired the convention planning committee of the party was a former acting national chairman of PDP.
He opined that President Jonathan’s victory at the party’s national convention was a step towards unity, stability of Nigeria.
He said: “President Goodluck Jonathan has always communicated his message of peace, unity and stability as a necessary foundation for the rapid and complete transformation of our dear country. This is a statesman’s message. We are delighted that Nigerians who desire peace have made up their minds to vote for him in 2015 because he is a man of peace.
“Our message at the national convention was very clear about the absolute sellability of Mr. President and his running mate, Vice President Namadi Sambo. We have absolute confidence in their ability to steer the ship of this nation for the next four years. We believe they are the real change agents of the transformation which our country needs now more than ever.”
He congratulated the PDP national chairman, Alhaji Adamu Muazu, the national secretary, Prof. Wale Oladipo and the national treasurer, Alh. Adewole Adeyanju, for the ratification of their election at the convention and wished them a successful tenure.
