While describing President Jonathan’s gesture of congratulating the president-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari as a “rare show honour and respect for the rule of law“, Daniel, who spoke via a press statement signed by his media officer – Ayo Giwa – said President Jonathan has written his name in the history books as someone has nothing to do with do-or-die politics, usually associated with most leaders.

He went on to hail President Jonathan for openly conceding defeat, something that is somewhat alien to most African leaders, who usually exhibit the “sit-tight” syndrome.

Daniel went on to congratulate the president-elect for his victory in the keenly contested election, beseeching him to create a new forward path for the country, adding that the “change” Nigerians crave was not for lack of achievement of the President Jonathan administration, but the hope that General Buhari will continue on the path of the incumbent for the economic prosperity of the country.

He then  appealed to Nigerians to remain peaceful and guide our democracy to the expected stability by accepting the change as a divine act that will usher in a new dawn for Nigeria.
