The Senate has confirmed Justice Mahmud Mohammed as the new Chief Justice of the Nigeria (CJN).
President Goodluck Jonathan had earlier recommended Mohammed to the replace Justice Aloma Muhktar who has reached retirement age.
The new CJN answered several questions from the upper leglislative bothering on the conflicting judgements emanating from the courts, the Supreme Court nomenclature, welfare of judges and the structure of the judiciary as operated in Nigeria.
He was confirmed on Wednesday, November 19, 2014.
