A female pro-Biafran protester was on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 shot dead in Onitsha, the commercial city of Anambra State.
The member of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), who was unarmed, was shot dead by a Joint Military Task Force made up of the Nigerian Police, Army and Navy who reported to the scene of the protest.
The IPOB hold protests in South Eastern cities against the unlawful detention of their leader Nnamdi Kanu by the Department of State Services (DSS).
Nigerian blogger, Vivian Illikannu, who publishes on Vivian Gist, identified the deceased as her 21-year-old sister named Nkiruka Anthonia Ikeanyionwu.
Ikeanyionwu hailed from Adazi Nnuka in Anambra State and until her death at the hands of the Nigerian Police schooled at Federal College of Education, Umunze still in Anambra State.
The sister of the deceased wrote this on her blog:

Ikeanyionwu is among the nine IPOB members who lost their lives during the protest.
