Coach Sunday Oliseh’s explanation as to why he decided to demote Vincent Enyeama as the team captain is one of the most stupid defenses I have come across in recent times. That you decided to demote your
Captain because he confided in you that he will like to quit the game in one or two years? Oliseh is certainly a bad choice for the Eagles and may end up derailing our football, if the NFF does not do the needful, fast.
Is he trying to tell us that Enyeama should continue playing football till he can no longer play?
Was Oliseh, not the Captain of the Super Eagles? Did he not quit when he felt he could no longer give his best? Is Enyeama the only Captain to have talked about retirement while still in the game?
I do not want to believe that Oliseh is just being jealous of Enyeama, because the young man achieved what he could not in football. For Oliseh to have admitted in his reaction that he didn’t really know Enyeama before he was appointed the head coach of the Super Eagles betrays him as someone who really had something to grind with this great goalie of our darling National team.
For Christ’s sake, Enyeama is the highest ever capped Nigerian footballer and the most successful goal keeper to have come out of Nigeria, talking about him like you are talking about some upcoming footballer is absolutely stupid and irresponsible of a man who is supposed to know better.
Enyeama broke into the National team from the local league and kept his place through dedication, a dint of hard work and patriotism. For Oliseh or any other person to try to belittle the person and achievements of Enyeama is not just wicked but I daresay felonious, because it discourages patriotism.
I STAND WITH ENYEAMA, HE IS A HERO!
