[dropcap]B[/dropcap]uhari’s failure to meet the Pope was not accidental. He did not over sleep, was not tired or sick, and his itinerary was not messed up. The main reason why he chose not to make it to meet the Pope was because he is a religious bigot and meeting the Pope would come with shaking the Pope’s hand or the Pope, an infidel, touching him.
If he had seen and shook the Pope’s hand, he would have “desecrated” himself. Muslims believe that Christians and other religious faiths are infidels.
As a champion of Muslims as the new era Uthman Dan Fodio, President Muhammadu Buhari would have committed a heresy in the Muslim world if he had touched the Pope or let the Pope touch him. His followers would have been dumbfounded and scandalized. Buhari does not represent every Nigerian. He represents his “constituency” who are mainly Muslims. He could not differentiate between being a president of the most populous and most diverse black country in the world, with being a private billionaire ex-President.
That is the gospel truth. Forget about the legion of uncoordinated and incoherent excuses by his handlers. It is very tough to lie for an administration such as this. I pity those handlers and spokespeople.
Only an ‘ofeke’ or ‘efulufu’ is shown his father’s land twice.
If you are allergic to the truth, maybe you might want to unfriend me, I would not be mad at you. I may not even notice your sin.
He would continue to shame us abroad. The popular US adage says: “You cannot teach an old dog a new trick.” Buhari is set in his ways and no one can change it. Our country is already condemned with him at the helm.
It’s too late to cry when the head is already on the ground.
