Jesus healed ten people of leprosy, and only one of them returned to say thank you. It’s safe to conclude that majority of us are like the nine; from experience it’s true!
You see, it’s not about being happy about what was done for you, and it’s not even about being grateful; it’s about you returning, coming back to give thanks for what was done.
Returning to give thanks is the proof of your gratitude. After Eli prayed for Hannah to have a baby and it happened, she returned to give thanks, saying, “Sir, do you remember me? I am the very woman who stood here several years ago praying to the Lord. I asked the Lord to give me this boy, and he has granted my request.” 1 Samuel 1:26-27. Don’t walk away with your blessings: it’s not enough to count your blessings, return to say thank you.
