The king had decreed that the Jews be wiped off the surface of the earth, as a result of a plot conceived by Haman. But the Bible says that when Esther came before the king, his decree was reversed. Won’t it be wonderful to have someone like Esther speaking on your behalf to the people who matter? Sure.
Another story that comes to mind is that of the Shunammite woman who left the land for seven years based on Elisha’s advice. By the time she returned, her property had been taken over by the king and she went to appeal to recover her property. Meanwhile, Gehazi was already in the palace telling the king about the exploits of his master Elisha; just as the woman was coming in, Gehazi was telling the king about how Elisha raised her son back to life. What a divine coincidence! As soon as Gehazi saw her, he said, “My Lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son whom Elisha restored to life.” That’s how the king ordered that they restore all that was hers, and all the proceeds of the field from the day that she left the land until that moment. Awesome!
