Spirit And Life Devotional:The Generational Effects Of Your Actions

Must read

[pull_quote_center]Hebrews 7.9-10 “Even Levi, who receives tithes, paid tithes through Abraham, so to speak, for he was still in the loins of his father when Melchizedek met him.”[/pull_quote_center]

By the time Abraham met Melchizedek and paid tithes to him, he had not given birth to any children. But the Bible says that Levi paid tithes through Abraham! Note that Levi was not even Abraham’s own son; he was Abraham’s greatgrandson! But what Abraham did, he was said to have done!

Have you ever stopped to think about the generational effects of all your actions? Especially as a single person. Are they actions that would bless your future generations or those that would cause them pain? Would you be happy to hear that your greatgrandchildren are said to have done whatever you’re doing today, just because they were in your loins? Think! Think about the things you’re doing today and their effects on your unborn generations!

God said to Moses, “Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned back My wrath from the children of Israel, because he was zealous with My zeal among them, so that I did not consume the children of Israel in My zeal. Therefore say, ‘Behold, I give to him My covenant of peace; and it shall be to him and his descendants after him a covenant of an everlasting priesthood, because he was zealous for his God, and made atonement for the children of Israel.’” May we all be like Phinehas who secured blessings for his descendants in Jesus name!
