[pull_quote_center]“Why should I fear when trouble comes, when enemies surround me?” Psalm 49:5[/pull_quote_center]

There are two kinds of people: those who are terrified by troubles and enemies, and those who are not. The first set are like the servant of Elisha, and the second are like Elisha himself.

There’s a story about Elisha and the Aramean army in 2 Kings 6:8-24. The king of Aram was at war with Israel, and anytime he strategized with his army officials on how they were going to attack the Israelites, Elisha would reveal his plans to the king of Israel. It happened several times. The king of Aram got fed up one day and began suspecting his officers; he wondered how the king of Israel was able to always predict his moves with accuracy: they told him, “It’s not us, my lord the king, Elisha, the prophet in Israel, tells the king of Israel even the words you speak in the privacy of your bedroom!”

One night, the king of Aram sent a great army with many horses and chariots to capture the man of God. Elisha’s servant got up early the next day and went outside, he saw troops, horses and chariots everywhere and was afraid! He ran to Elisha, “Oh, sir, what will we do now?” “Don’t be afraid!” Elisha told him. “For there are more on our side than on theirs!” Hallelujah!

The author of Psalm 49 said, “Why should I fear when trouble comes, when enemies surround me?” Why should you fear troubles and enemies when you have God? Why should you live in constant worry and restlessness when God is available to help you? It doesn’t matter the size of the problem, God is greater and stronger!

Prophetic Declaration

From today, I will not be afraid; my God is bigger, greater and stronger than any trouble and person, and I know that He is willng to help me.
