“But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.” Galatians 6:14
When you’re dead to the world, the things of the world no longer excite you; all that matters to you is Jesus and the kingdom of God. A lot of us believers are still chasing worldly things, forgetting that they’ll all pass away. 1 John 2:16-17 says, “For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.”
God is looking for kingdom minded people. How passionate are you about the things of God? The apostle, Paul, said that the things that were gain to him, he counted them as loss for Christ; all things were rubbish to him, so he could gain Christ! If we had more ministers and believers like Paul, we would shake this world for Jesus!
No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier (II Timothy 2:4). It’s time for us to get really serious and focus on our God-given assignment here on earth. It’s time for us to truly set our minds on things above instead of the things of this world (Colossians 3:2). The things of the kingdom are of eternal value, and the things of this world are temporal.
