Ezra 3:12 NKJV “But many of the priests and Levites and heads of the fathers’ houses, old men who had seen the first temple, wept with a loud voice when the foundation of this temple was laid before their eyes. Yet many shouted aloud for joy.”
In the Scripture above, we see two different reactions: the older ones who saw the first temple wept when the foundation was laid because they knew that it was nothing compared to the first one: see Haggai 2:3. The younger ones however, who didn’t know how glorious the first temple was, rejoiced.
I fear that that’s what’s happening in our time! The younger believers are excited about what they are seeing now, they love the new kinds of songs, they enjoy the worship and the dancing, they enjoy the motivational messages and seminars; but they know little or nothing about the glory and the power of God that was manifested in and through the church! Once, the world feared the church, but now, the world conveniently jokes about the church!
I talked about remodelling the Early Church in our day, but the Lord said, “Didn’t I say that the glory of the latter house will be greater than the former?” Yes He did in Haggai 2:9! That gives me hope! It makes me excited! In these last days, the Church of Jesus Christ, you and I, will again be exalted and glorified with a greater glory, as prophesied in Isaiah 2:2, and we will do exploits in the name of Jesus! Oh, I can’t wait! Hallelujah!
