“Then they made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and wrote on it an inscription like the engraving of a signet: HOLINESS TO THE Lord.” Exodus 39:30 NKJV
When God calls a person, here’s what He’s actually doing, He’s separating that person unto Himself. And that’s what it means to be holy, to be separated from the world and the things of the world unto God. Having been born again, we were separated from the world and everything associated with it, unto God.
I Peter 2:9 says, “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”
The challenge is remaining holy, and that’s always what it has been about. We often get entangled with the world, we do as they do, we mix up with them, we walk in their ways. But God is calling us back to holiness. He says, “Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. Therefore ‘Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you.’ ‘I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.’” II Corinthians 6:14-18. Amen.
