Must read

The supreme court of Nigeria will on Monday, December 8, 2014 hear suits by the 36 states of the federation seeking to reverse “irregularities” used by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), acting on behalf of the federal government, in removing subsidy funds.

The states claim that the Federal Government cheated them as regards the processes involved in the payment of the subsidy claims.

Two Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN), Joseph Daudu and Lateef Fagbemi filed for the state governments praying that the apex court, among others declare that the practice was in violation of Sections 88 and 162 of the 1999 constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria.
