#TryantBuhari: Femi Fani-Kayode Says Buhari Taking Nigerian Closer To Totalitarian Regime

Must read

Former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has said President Muhammadu Buhari has taken Nigeria one step closer to a totalitarian regime by justifying his government’s refusal to allow former National Security Adviser, Ibrahim Dasuki and others  to enjoy the bail granted them by court.

In his reaction to Buhari’s media chat, Fani-Kayode said: “We are not yet in a democracy. How can president not feel bad that courts orders are not being obeyed?

“I am worry by the fact that the president is trying to be the prosecutor, the jury and the judge. First, he does not believe that they should be granted bail. He will not allow them to enjoy the bail granted them. I am worry. He has taken us one step closer to a totalitarian regime.”

However, a Senior of Advocate of Nigeria, Mr. Sebastine Hon, said so far so good government had done well in the fight against corruption.

He said those re-arrested were found to have committed other crimes.

Hon however warned that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) would soon be overwhelmed by the cases.

According to him, the commission at present under staffed and underfunded.

During the media chat, Buhari justified the refusal to allow Dasuki to travel abroad for medicals despite an order of a Federal High Court Abuja on the ground that he might jump bail.
