Governor of Rivers State, Mr. Nyesom Wike officially welcomes Nigeria’s vice president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo to Bodo in Rivers for the launching and flag off of Ogoniland clean up on Thursday, June 2, 2016.
President Muhammadu was expected to visit Ogoniland for this historic event, but changed his mind at the last minute, opting to send the vice president to represent him, presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina confirmed to The Trent early Thursday.
Also at the event were Ms. Amina Mohammed, minister for the environment, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, a former governor of Rivers and bitter political rival to Governor Wike, he is also Nigeria’s minister for transport, Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, and other dignitaries.
