Ten people have been killed by Boko haram insurgents in Njaba village of Damboa Local Government on Tuesday while 8 others were also killed in Kaya village of the same Local Government area on Wednesday when the Boko Haram attacked the two villages setting houses and shops ablaze.

This is even as over 20 communities of Limanti, Yahuri, Goskari Gana and Ngawo Fate among others in Konduga Council Area were sacked by Boko Haram insurgents who are currently taking refuge at the Federal Training Centre, Maiduguri.

According to Wadai Mutah resident of Njaba village who brought five of his village mates who were shot and sustained serious gun wounds for treatment at the State Specialist Hospital Maiduguri on Thursday night but spoke to our correspondent on (Friday), said, “Our village was attacked by Boko Haram members on Tuesday and they killed 10 people and set the whole village on fire before leaving.”

“Five people were injured by gunshots and I brought them to the Specialist Hospital Maiduguri yesterday (Thursday) because there was no way to move them out before now”, he said.

“At Kaya village which was attacked on Wednesday eight people were killed when the Boko Haram attacked, shooting people and burning houses. Mude and Kwaljiri villages were also attacked and totally destroyed on the same day but the villagers escaped unhurt and ran to Njaba as they did not know that we had been attacked the day before,” he said.

When our correspondent visited to see the survivors who were receiving treatment, at the hospital, he was not allowed to enter the ward as the medical attendants were busy battling to save souls, but Mr. Wovi Pogu, one of the survivors who sustained minor injury and was sighted outside the ward said,”we were relaxing after our evening meal when suddenly we heard gunshots in all directions and cries for help from women and children. As I made to enter my house I was hit by bullet on leg and I fell down but I dragged myself to a nearby shack where I hid until the shooting subsided.”

He said, “When the military came to the village much later they assisted us and gave first aid to those badly injured. It was their presence that made me come out of hiding.”

“It was then that I was told that ten people had been killed in the attack. On Wednesday when Mude, Kwaljiri and Kaya villages were attacked people from there told us that 8 people had been killed in Kaya while Mude and Kwaljiri villages were completely burnt but all the villagers escaped,” Wovi Pogu said.

When contacted Col. Muhammadu Dole spokesman of 7 Division Nigeria Army over the incidence, he said, “For now we are still awaiting the full details of the operation but I will get back to you later.”
