Osun State residents panic as six persons who tested positive escaped from isolation centre at Gedu in the Ejigbo area of the state.
According to news reports, the state has launch manhunt for the six persons who escaped from the isolation centre on Friday, April 3, 2020.
When the chief press secretary to the governor, Ismail Omipidan was contacted on phone, his line was not reachable as at the time of filing this report.
The Osun State government has launched a manhunt for six persons with confirmed infection of COVID-19 who escaped from an isolation centre in Ejigbo on Friday night.
The six persons belong to a cluster of COVID-19 cases who returned to their hometown, Ejigbo, from Ivory Coast last week and were quarantined by the state government.
A statement from the government which disclosed this gave the names of the six persons with their phone numbers.

Plans Underway To Evacuate Nigerians Stranded Abroad
Nigeria’s ministry of foreign affairs has directed all its missions abroad to compile lists of Nigerians who feel stranded abroad and would like to come home.
Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, disclosed that this was a sequel to requests by Nigerians stranded abroad in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
She, however, said that the MFA had instructed that “the financial implications will be borne by the prospective evacuees, who will be compulsorily quarantined when they returned”.
According to a press statement on Friday, April 3, 2020, by the head, media and public relations unit, NIDCOM, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, interested citizens should inform the embassy in their country of residence about their intention to return to Nigeria.
It said, “The interested Nigerians are advised to inform the missions in the various countries they are in, which will then collate and coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“To this end, Abike Dabiri-Erewa urged Nigerians stranded abroad willing to return home to key into this Federal Government gesture by providing information to the mission in their respective host countries.”
House Of Reps Rejects Motion To Evacuate Nigerians Stuck In ‘Coronavirus’ China
Members of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, February 4, 2020, rejected a motion calling for the evacuation of Nigerians in Wuhan, China over fears of contracting the dreaded coronavirus.
Wuhan is the city where the dreaded coronavirus emanated from with Nigerians resident there reportedly sending in a Save Our Souls message to return home.
Ben Kalu had sought the permission of the House to move a motion of urgent public importance on the need to evacuate Nigerians from the city.
A stunned speaker Femi Gbajabiamila fought to ensure the motion was moved by Kalu but members moved against it as the Chamber became rowdy.
Deputy House Leader sought to withdraw the motion in view of the stand of the members.
The Speaker appealed for the motion to be moved but members will not allow the motion, insisting that China has better facilities to take care of the virus.
